2012 WSOP Europe Schedule Released
The European leg of the world’s biggest poker tournament series will play out over two weeks at the Hôtel Majestic Barrière in Cannes, starting September 21. Due to French gaming law only Hold’em and Omaha tournaments are allowed, which means this year’s slate of events will look a lot like the WSOPE’s first visit to Cannes one year ago. A €10,000 main event headlines a list that includes a Shootout, full-ring and six-max PLO events and the same Mixed Max event we saw in 2011.

Candio, Tony G Among Leaders at WPT Venice Grand Prix
155 in total turned up to play the latest WPT main event at the Casino di Venezia Ca Vendramin Calergi in Venice and after eight levels of play just 88 were left. Candio leads with 227,900, well ahead of his nearest competition Andrea Dato who bagged 121,700. Those two are joined at the top of the leaderboard by fellow Italian, and WSOP bracelet winner, Dario Alioto who finished with 84,000, and fellow former November Niner James Akenhead who finished with 78,000

Barbero, Rousso Build Stacks on EPT Deauville Day 1b
A swath of Team PokerStars pros lead the charge and by the time the chips were bagged Jose “Nacho” Barbero and Vanessa Rousso had built up 100k-ish stacks to put them inside the top 30. Barbero finished the day with 106,300 while Rousso was slightly behind with 96,400. Chip leader to end the day is Frenchman Amir Salhani, who bagged up 191,000.

Heineckerragen narrowly edged out French pro Alex “BiatchPeople” Luneau for the top spot while high-stakes regulars Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom, Sander Berndsen and Ronny Kaiser found themselves among this week’s biggest losers. A relatively subdued week in the nosebleed games with many players in transit either from the PCA or to the Aussie Millions, the last seven days nonetheless saw a few seriously large pots.
