ANZPT Queenstown: Final table, levels 17&18 (blinds 3000-6000, ante 500)

4:03pm: Jason Gray eliminated in 7th place Julian Cohen had such a tough decision that he decided to let random chance make it for him. Cohen opened pre-flop to 17,500 in front of Jason Gray, who moved all in for 73,500 total. Cohen agonized over his decision for several minutes before asking TD Toni Quedley if he could flip a coin to decide. “Of course!” Quedley replied. Cohen then fished a coin out of his wallet and asked Gray to call it in the air. If Gray called correctly, Cohen would fold

License to Bust

Our Pokerati player/parking-lot-correspondent crew is still at it, trying to win their way into the main event while keeping you up to date about the most compelling vehicular storylines at the 2010 WSOP. The driver of this SUV, spotted in the Rio’s WSOP valet lot, did not survive Day 1A, and in fact was the first former main event champion eliminated in 2010. Long drive back home to Raleigh, I’d presume. (Think poker players honk at him along the way?) Greg Raymer, btw, delivered the opening shuffle-up-and-deal (scroll down to the 12:06 pm entry), and was gone (from the tournament, not necessarily Vegas) less than an hour-and-a-half later, before the first break

John Juanda and Frank Kassela are tied at the top of the leaderboard with 225 points, and Juanda has incredibly got there without winning a bracelet, courtesy of making four World Series final tables in 2010. “[If I win Player of The Year]…it will make me feel a bit better about not winning a bracelet. But every year I go without a bracelet, it’s disappointing,” said Juanda.
