All Star Week: Pros seek to restore battered pride
Jul 29th
by Chris Edge Following their disastrous start to All Star Week on Monday, PokerStars Team Pro lined up Tuesday determined to cut into the Challengers’ overnight 4-1 lead in their quest to take home a 2nd successive title. First out of the blocks for the Pros was 2003 WSOP Main Event winner, Chris Moneymaker. Once the champion of the underdog, Moneymaker nowadays finds himself sat on the Pros’ side of the fence, here seeking to register only their 2nd win of the campaign. Flying the flag for the Challengers in the NLHE event was seasoned online cash-cow, ‘MOJOEX1′. Any hopes of a speedy turnaround in fortunes for the Pros were short-lived however, with the match consigned to history after only 8 minutes. Much of the damage to Moneymaker’s cause was done after raising a MOJOEX1 turn bet to 900 with the board reading [7d][Ks][9c][3h], only to then fold to an all-in 3-bet

RandALLin Dominates Super Tuesday
Jul 21st
It was a particularly busy Tuesday on PokerStars as 384 players paid the $1,030 buy-in, easily smashing the $300k guarantee. There were numerous pros in the field with Jon “PearlJammer” Turner, David “dpeters17″ Peters, Chad Brown, Vanessa Rousso and JP Kelly all taking a crack at the nearly $400k prizepool. All the aforementioned players hit the rail well before the money leaving Pat Pezzin and Tae Joon Noh as the only Team PokerStars Pros to make the money. Noh would eventually fall in 30th place for $2,496 while Pezzin hit the rail 16th for $3,840. Flowers actually entered the final table as one of the short stacks but that didn’t stop the young pro from doubling up almost immediately and then busting another player shortly thereafter. Eventually Flowers entered heads-up play with a slight chip disadvantage to opponent guinor but once again luck was on his side.
Mads Wissing – Poker Player Profile
Jul 17th
Denmark has given the world a Main Event winner already, when young Peter Eastgate won it in 2008; and a highly entertaining poker powerhouse in Gus Hansen , poker bad boy and favourite guest of televised poker shows. 2010 Main Event deep runner Mads Wissing could turn out to be a bit of both: an entertaining personality with an interesting life story and a good chance at the highest honor in poker. The Danish player – who has been living in Spain for a few years now – plays mainly online poker, but breaks his routine a few times a year for live events, mainly those in the European Poker Tour. Wissing started playing poker when he was in high school, and by the age of 17 he was joining “juicy” (his description) Five Card Draw games with restaurant and business owners. He got into Hold’em when his cousin won the Danish Championship in the most popular form of poker
