Several Team PokerStars pros tried their hand tonight at breaking thru the 17,281 player field of the $1 Million Turbo Takedown but only a handful would break into the top 5,000 to claim a little money. Anders “Donald” Berg (382nd Place – $260.00), Christophe “chrisdm” de Meulder (216th place – $350.00), and Julian Thew (212th place – $350.00) would all reach the final 500 but were unable to get within sniffing that great new car smell of the Audi TT and dropped off their $100 bounties before leaving. Task cracked Taska85 was sitting on the bubble with a comfortable 2.7 million in chips and facing a 345,000 raise from muezzo with the blinds at 80K/160K ante 16K. Online Nominations Open for 2010 Poker Hall of Fame
Jul 13th
As the World Series of Poker ’s Championship Event enters into its final week (before taking its break for the November Nine), Harrah’s and WSOP officials have opened up the process of public nominations to fill the ballot for the 2010 Poker Hall of Fame. As with last year’s nomination process, the public is invited to visit the WSOP website to enter a nomination for who should be inducted in 2010. Each person has only one vote, making the nomination process difficult for the fans of the game. On September 1st, Harrah’s and WSOP officials will tally the voting and announce who will be eligible for inclusion in the Poker Hall of Fame . This list is normally ten players but, as with last year’s dropping of Full Tilt Poker’s Tom “ durrrr ” Dwan from the nominated list due to not meeting the requirement for “standing the test of time,” it can sometimes be smaller. Once the top ten nominees have been announced, the sixteen living Poker Hall of Fame members and a similar number of media personnel will decide on which players are inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
