Negreanu, Boeree Take Top Readers Choice Awards

Along with taking the popular vote in the marquee “Favorite Male Poker Player” category, Negreanu also easily scooped the award for “Favorite Poker Tweeter.” Negreanu is well known for being more than a bit open and revealing with his tweets, which could be one of the reasons he took over 50% of the votes in that category. Other awards of note: Liv Boeree was the winner in the other headline category, the Favorite Female Player. Boeree won in a landslide with 37.7% of the votes despite social media heavy lobbying on Twitter from some of her category rivals Maria Ho, Vanessa Rousso, Vanessa Selbst and Amanda Musumeci .

bwin.party Positioning for Return to US Market

Earlier this week Ryan told Stephen Carter of egrmagazine.com that bwin.party was busy finalizing agreements with partners at state and federal levels in an effort to get out in front of expected governmental regulation of online poker in the US. ANZPT Draws Big in Sydney

The AUD$2,200 ANZPT Sydney main event was a near sell-out with 393 players getting in on the action over two starting days. In total, an AUD$786,000 prizepool was created with $195,714 reserved for first. The star studded field included 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion Joe Hachem, his brother and 2009 and 2010 ANZPT Player of the Year Tony Hachem, Aussie Millions champions David Gorr and Tyron Krost and APPT and ANZPT champion Grant Levy.
