The Sunday Scoop: Near Miss for Adam Levy

As usual PokerStars drew the largest crowd of online players with over 14,000 runners in the Sunday Million, Sunday 500, Sunday Warm-up and Sunday Second Chance alone. ROMDOM outlasted 8,026 players in the Sunday Million and then beat Frank “gator93″ Hernandez to secure a $225,408 payday, although there was a two-way chop. Former Heartland Poker Tour winner William “punisher03″ Givens beat a field of 1,416 to win $51,202. Meanwhile Full Tilt was hosting its $1 Million Guaranteed Rush Poker event. Ben “kidcardiff” Warrington outlasted all 1,584 entrants for a tidy $185,000 profit but perhaps the bigger story involved Adam “Roothlus” Levy.

WSOP: 2010 November Nine Set: Brandon Steven Out in Tenth

It looked as if we could reach the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event’s November Nine in short order Saturday night, as just a couple of hands into the unofficial final table of ten the shortest stack, Brandon Steven, was all-in for his tournament life. His top pair held against Michael Mizrachi’s middle pair,

RE: Marathon 10-handed Night/Morning

For many of us here in Vegas — even when the WSOP is not in season — sunrise is often a sign that “it’s time to go to bed!” Tonight’s a little different, and not just because it started yesterday … here’s a view from across the highway, taken and twit-shared by @SavagePoker , about 20 minutes ago: Related Posts Latest Ep of the WCP Podcast?

WSOP From the Rail: Main Event Day 7

The World Series of Poker main event is down to three tables — 27 players — and is just a day from reaching a final table. Two players eclipsed 20 million chips after the day of play Joseph “subiime” Cheong and Cuong Nguyen. Cheong is more known for his online play but has also won a WSOP Circuit event, earlier this year. Nguyen cashed the 2008 main event for just over $20K, which is his largest live cash. Here are the final 27: Joseph Cheong, 24,490,000 Cuong Nguyen, 23,100,000 Pascal LeFrancois, 17,780,000 Jason Senti, 13,550,000 Matthew Jarvis, 13,300,000 Matt Affleck, 12,515,000 Jonathan Duhamel, 10,520,000 John Racener, 10,470,000 Filippo Candio, 10,020,000 Benjamin Statz, 9,885,000 Robert Pisano, 8,060,000 Michiel Sijpkens, 7,765,000 Duy Le, 7,255,000 Scott Clements, 7,250,000 David Baker, 6,825,000 Michael Mizrachi, 6,300,000 Brandon Steven, 6,045,000 Adam Levy, 4,745,000 William Thorson, 3,680,000 Redmond Lee, 3,315,000 Mads Wissing, 3,070,000 Ronnie Bardah, 2,525,000 Matthew Bucaric, 2,270,000 John Dolan, 2,175,000 Patrick Eskandar, 1,655,000 Johnny Lodden, 1,560,000 Hasan Habib, 1,510,000 Notables among the players who are left include Mizrachi, the $50K Players Championship winner earlier this WSOP. He’s the most accomplished player left in the field, but is at a disadvantage in chips to much of the remaining field.

Theo Jorgensen Leads Michael Mizrachi, John Racener In WSOP Main Event; Chan Eliminated

The final days of the 2010 World Series of Poker Championship Event are drawing nigh, with only 78 players left to decide the next World Champion . Play on Thursday started with 205 runners, led by Canada’s Evan Lamprea , but the true story of the action at the WSOP Main Event sat further down the Top Ten. After not appearing for many of the preliminary events, two time WSOP Main Event winner Johnny Chan came to the felt with a vengeance. Through the first five days (and over 7000 eliminations), Chan battled his way to sit in ninth place with 2.559 million in chips to start play on Day 6

Today was a day for the players to either make their moves up the chip counts or just move to the rail. With only 3 days left before the November 9 is determined 205 players remained to start the day

UKIPT Brighton: Fish and chips

Oooo, we do like to be beside the seaside, we do like to be beside the sea! Yes, that’s right we’re at the seaside surrounded by deckchairs, seagulls and sticks of teeth rotting rock as the UKIPT hits destination six; Brighton. Although we’re currently enjoying a typical British summer with grey moody clouds and gusty winds making it near impossible to walk in an easterly direction down the promenade, we are due to see the sun making a guest appearance from tomorrow . Other celestial bodies showing their faces here at the Rendezvous Casino for the £1,000 main event include Team PokerStars Pros Jude Ainsworth and Julian Thew. Unfortunately for us, and fortunately for him, fellow Team PokerStars Pro JP Kelly is unable to make it here as he’s currently wedged under a huge wedge of chips in some tournament or other called the World Series of Poker Main Event. You may have heard of it

Vanessa Rousso is one of many women faring well in this year’s Main Event David Sands is doing his best to leave a lasting impression on Doyle Brunson it seems.  The DoylesRoom Brunson 10 contender is already the points leader in the online poker room’s contest, but he figured he’d try to cement his status as
