All Star Week Day 3: Challengers crank up the pressure
Jul 29th
by Chris Edge Last year the inaugural All Star week went right down to the wire, with both sides deadlocked at 17-17 going into the final match of the series. The Pros ultimately prevailed to come out on top 18-17 victors. Today the prospect of a repeat scenario seems as distant as ever, with the Challengers on Tuesday racking up a further four victories, surging them into an unprecedented 8-2 lead. In short, the Challengers have been running away with it. On Wednesday the Pros pinned their All-Star hopes on WSOP stalwarts Hevad Khan, Ivan Demidov, Joe Cada, Joe Hachem and Johnny Lodden to get their beleaguered campaign back on track. True to form however, it didn’t start at all well for the Pros.

2010 WSOP Main Event Day 5 Girls on the Rail Photo Dump
Jul 15th
Super Cute Tat Girl was one of many fine entries into our Girls on the Rail catalogue today. Since the so-called “media” isn’t allowed inside the ropes for the rest of the night, we’re doing our Girls on the Rail photo dump a little early. For those who actually come here for poker news , Theo Jorgensen is the chip leader with 250 remaining. Also in the top 50 are Fokke Beukers, Johnny Chan, Jean-Robert Bellande, and Breeze Zuckerman. Fokke Beukers.
WSOP blog: Dinner break occurs four eliminations before the money at the WSOP main event
Jul 14th
Players were sent off on their dinner break earlier than expected with a surprise announcement by the Tournament Director Jack Effel. With only four more players to go until the money would be reached, the crowd heard the news and reacted sourly as now they’ll have to dwell on their stacks for the next 90 minutes. In all honesty, the players didn’t love the decision, but I’m for it. Who knows how long the bubble will last
WSOP From The Rail: Main Event Day 1c
Jul 8th
Catch up with the World Series of Poker main event on day 1c, where a former main event champ has a big stack. More than 2,300 players registered for day 1c, pushing the total number of players with one more “day one” to go at just under 5,000. If day 1d tops 2,000 players, this will be the second largest main event in history. At worst it appears this year will be ahead of last year’s field size. The big story out of day 1c is Johnny Chan, the two-time main event champion, who was second in chips with 164K.

WSOP Blog: Over 2,300 register for action and two levels have been completed on Day 1C
Jul 8th
Players are on their second break of the day and it seems that Wednesday has so far been a day for the pros. David Williams still leads the entire field of over 2,300 players having a six-figure stack after two levels. Up over $130,000 at one point, Williams gave some back during the last 15 minutes, but is still the top dog so far. During the middle of the level, I found my way to the feature table to check out how 2009 WSOP main event champion Joe Cada was faring. As soon as I got there, the…
