Candio, Tony G Among Leaders at WPT Venice Grand Prix

155 in total turned up to play the latest WPT main event at the Casino di Venezia Ca Vendramin Calergi in Venice and after eight levels of play just 88 were left. Candio leads with 227,900, well ahead of his nearest competition Andrea Dato who bagged 121,700. Those two are joined at the top of the leaderboard by fellow Italian, and WSOP bracelet winner, Dario Alioto who finished with 84,000, and fellow former November Niner James Akenhead who finished with 78,000

Barbero, Rousso Build Stacks on EPT Deauville Day 1b

A swath of Team PokerStars pros lead the charge and by the time the chips were bagged Jose “Nacho” Barbero and Vanessa Rousso had built up 100k-ish stacks to put them inside the top 30. Barbero finished the day with 106,300 while Rousso was slightly behind with 96,400. Chip leader to end the day is Frenchman Amir Salhani, who bagged up 191,000.

The latest issue of a Swedish poker magazine featured an article where Antonius alleged that Kowssarie sent a trojan virus through MSN so that he could read the Finn’s hole cards. Antonius was reminded when he saw Kowssarie playing EPT San Remo last month.

Heartland Poker Tour: Hidden Gem of US Poker Circuit

The tour has had more than 60,000 unique entrants in its history, and according to co-founder Todd Anderson 80 percent of that number is represented by recreational poker enthusiasts. Eastgate’s bracelet sold for an astounding $147,500 on eBay to an, at the time, anonymous buyer with the username 7****I. A year later the buyer has come forward as Scottish millionaire entrepreneur Willie Haughey.

Dan Smith Crowned King in Aussie $100k Challenge

Smith, who is known as King Dan online, beat a final table that included Gus Hansen, Joe Hachem, Sorel Mizzi, Nam Le, Tony G, Sam Trickett and Mikhail Smirnov. He won $1.01 million for finishing first. Paying $100,000 to play a tournament might seem absurd but Smith was able to justify it in his own mind
