Galfond Records Super Sweet $378k Weekend

The Maryland-native went into beast mode this weekend and won a staggering $376k in 2,460 hands on PokerStars . Galfond’s primary victim was Dutch pro Sander “Berndsen12” Berndsen who picked up $631k last week. Right from the start, Galfond appeared to have Berndsen12’s number as he was dominating the $100/$200 heads-up PLO games they were playing.

Phil Ivey Makes Appearance on PokerStars?

RaiseOnce, widely regarded to be Ivey’s PokerStars account, logged on to the site Friday and played 223 hands of $200/$400 Pot-Limit Omaha before eventually losing $218,000.  In 2010 Phil Ivey and RaiseOnce were both active on Full Tilt and PokerStars respectively and they both disconnected and reconnected at the same time. The RaiseOnce account also seems to follow Ivey’s general style of play – i.e. playing a minimal amount of tables and quitting as soon as he starts losing

Matt Giannetti Ready to Rock WSOP Main Event Finale

Almost four months ago Giannetti joined the 2011 November Nine by outlasting 6,856 players in the WSOP Main Event. Making the final table guarantees him at least $782,115 but he’s got his sights set squarely on the title of world champion and the $8.7 million that goes with it. “I want this more than anything else I’ve ever wanted,” Giannetti told PokerListings.com in at the WSOPE in Cannes.
