Zynga “Confirms” Interest in Real-Money Gambling

According to writer Tricia Duryee’s post , a “Zynga spokesperson” provided the following statement in response to the question of a potential launch into real-money gaming: “We build games and experiences that our players want and love. Zynga Poker is the world’s largest online poker game with more than 7 million people playing every day and over 30 million each month. “We know from listening to our players that there’s an interest in the real money gambling market.

Facebook Angling for Real-Money Gambling in UK?

The report, (behind a paywall at eGR but covered in detail here on TechCrunch ) says Facebook has spoken with up to 20 online gaming experts and potential facilitators over the last six months and is considering offering eight licenses for UK operators to offer real-money gambling apps. Leading candidates among potential licensees are reportedly 888 Holdings, owner/operator of 888 Poker , and Gamesys, another well known UK online casino operator. According to eGR’s sources, TechCrunch says, Facebook has also begun “staffing up” for the launch and support of real-money gambling apps on its platform

Epic Poker Tour Gets ‘Social’

The next logical step is apparently a Facebook game. Similar to the popular Zynga Poker platform, the Epic Poker app lets players fold, check and raise their way to millions of dollars in play money. The game is free to play and it’s possible to win some real life prizes if you become a fan of the application.
